Schloss Nymphenburg Palace Shower Room Mural

This panel of hand-painted tiling by Carol Francis forms the centrepiece of a shower installation at the Nymphenburg Palace in Munich, the mid 17th century summer residence of Elector Ferdinand and his wife, Henriette Adelaide.

Rather than have plain glazed tiles for the other three walls, the client preferred a softer look and commissioned custom tiling for these. We created hand-washed, fading blue tiles to echo the background colours in the mural. These provide visual interest without making the whole project too 'busy', and at the same time, they blend softly with the colours of the mural.

Bird murals are a speciality within our mural portfolio and we have several in various painting styles illustrated on our Tile Murals page.
