STYLE OF TILE

We offer two types of tile, our studio handmade antique style and our standard range, which has a more modern appearance. Plain tiles or tiles just with corners are also available, in style and glaze across all ranges, see examples below.

 

GLAZES

You can choose from two types of glaze for Delft tiles. White glaze is a traditional delft style tin glaze, with a soft, off-white look, whereas Antique Crackle has a crazed, white appearance which provides a more aged feel to the tiles.

 

PIGMENT COLOUR

The traditional colour for delft tiles is cobalt blue oxide, used as a defining line and a paler wash. Another colour, which was less commonly used on original delft tiles, is manganese, sometimes known as manganese magenta, a dark, burgundy red. We can also offer sepia, green and black/grey in our pigment range.

TILE CORNERS

There are three traditional corner motifs to choose from, illustrated below. The standard corner is Spider. Other options, Oxhead and Winged Oxhead are available at additional cost per tile. Each range has an individual price list on its page. For mobile users there is a PDF download.
